Ten Songs for Summer

Joshua Sinclair (2022)

Everyone loves a great summer song but how about 10 of them? That's exactly what Joshua Sinclair is doing in order to prepare you for a summer of family, friends, and fantastic music. Dropping on April 30th, 2022 this album is an absolute beast of great listening and well storied song writing. I'm lucky enough to have known Josh for a big portion of his journey and it has been a pleasure watching him grow and evolve as a top tier artist.

The album opens up with one of my favorite songs and sets the tone for the rest of the record. I have seen Josh perform this song several times live and he incorporates live looping during it. This is a very hard skill to master let alone recreate the same energy on a studio album but Josh does it perfect justice. Sampling a classic from Wreckx-n-Effect your foot won't stop tapping on this one. Great drive to this song and incorporating the vocal CB radio effect is just plain cool.

Track 2 reminds us that mom jeans are in fact still meta. With a country vibe we can really hear the influence from Josh's mini guitar on this song. What's great is the melody holds up wonderfully throughout the entire track and the harmonica solo at the end is the perfect touch.

As we hit track 3 we instantly connect with the opening lyrics and we can all relate. Another solid quality of Josh's song writing skills is his ability to connect instantly to the audience with his lyrics and storytelling. I felt this song had a great 90s style vibe to it and love the 'can opening' sound effect that he mixed in, see if you can catch it!

Sunday funday is here and "Sundays Are For Shots" is exactly what the doctor prescribed. This song is a feel good one with some solid hooks and catchy chorus. We all sometimes know a bloody just doesn't cut it on Sundays!

Track 5 is a true love song! Loving someone more than beer is a serious commitment and this song explains it all. Backed by a nice blues feel this song makes it easy to help Josh on the chorus live, "I LOVE You More Than Beer!".

Banjo hits you in track 6 and we are all up trying to square dance while grooving to a solid melody and instrumentation. Country and pop are shining through on this one and the addition of a fiddle brings it all together for me.

Track 7 is a song called ''Brothers" and is top 3 for me on this album. I haven't ever heard this song until I heard this album and I'm blown away. The songwriting and storytelling is fantastic and if you are lucky enough to have a brother IRL then this song just hits different! Bravo on this one Josh!

Rock N Roll & Whiskey feels like it's part of a solid set by Chris Stapleton or another giant artist in the industry. Summer will be here before you know it and we all should be playing this one at volume 11......what's that....I can't hear you......yeah turn it up people....LOUD.

I have been waiting for the studio version of this song since the first time I heard Josh play it live a few months back. The production on this song and acoustic guitar carry this song to one of my top 3 favorite songs on the album. The lyrics are super relatable and makes it easy to sing alone by the second chorus. Do yourself a favor and listen to this one a few times in a row before moving on to the last track.

Songs to get drunk are a staple on any great album. Josh easily creates an instant one that makes you want to raise a glass and cheers!

Josh continues to capture what life is like being a songwriter for the past 20 years. The highs and the lows of life on the road, the glitz, the glam, and the disappointments. From signing multiple record deals to the music business in general, and the relationships along the way Josh provides the musical score to the stories of his life. Keep your eyes and ears open as this album will be hitting all the major streaming services before you know it!
